From a Wartime Sewing Workshop to a Pillar of Vietnam’s Textile and Garment Industry

The 80th anniversary celebration of May 10 Corporation was not only an opportunity to revisit its proud and glorious tradition, but also a profound tribute to generations of leaders, officers, and employees whose dedication and perseverance have shaped the identity, values, and reputation of May 10 over the past eight decades.

From its origins as a sewing workshop serving the resistance war, through periods of national recovery, renewal, international integration, and sustainable growth, May 10 has continuously evolved—steadily affirming its role as a core enterprise of Vietnam’s textile and garment industry, contributing significantly to socio-economic development and enhancing the global standing of Vietnamese apparel.

A special highlight of the ceremony was the political-art program “Radiant Resilience – May 10 Moving Forward”, thoughtfully staged with depth, emotion, and strong ideological value.

The program delivered memorable experiences, including:

  • The documentary “Proud of May 10 – 80 Years Growing Together with the Nation”, vividly portraying heroic historical milestones and reflecting the close bond between May 10’s development and the nation’s journey.
  • A fashion showcase featuring the collection “Serenity – A Moment of Flourish”, honoring Vietnamese cultural beauty within a contemporary context and expressing creativity, integration, and respect for tradition.
  • The ceremonial segment “Aspiration for the Future”, reaffirming the determination of May 10’s leadership and workforce to continue innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable development in a new era.

Attendance of Senior National Leader

The celebration was honored by the presence and guidance of Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Member of the Politburo and Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Also in attendance were Members of the Party Central Committee, including:

  • Le Thanh Long – Deputy Prime Minister
  • Khuat Van Khang – Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour
  • Vu Dai Thang – Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee
